Hurricane Sandy Cleanup in Ocean City, NJ
Cleanup continues in Ocean City, New Jersey, in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Here a family deals with the aftermath of flooding at 12th Street and Simpson Avenue on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012. Margie Hendrix, 84, has lived in this home all her life, and says the flooding from Hurricane Sandy surpassed that from the storm of 1962. She receives help with the clean up from family members including daughter Leisa Hendrix Begley and her husband Michael Begley, of Bridgewater, NJ. Though not the hardest hit of the beach towns in New Jersey, Ocean City saw its share of flooding during Hurricane Sandy. Here Florida resident Bill Brehm talks about cleaning up the damage to his properties on Stenton Place. Hurricane Sandy washed sand into Brehm’s beach home, which is situated closest to the ocean on Stenton Place. The storm was also strong enough to sweep away his hot tub.
